Caratteristiche botaniche: Grande albero deciduo, a crescita rapida, con portamento elegante e chioma espansa, raggiunge i 25 metri di altezza. Corteccia grigio scuro molto solcata. Foglie imparipennate composte da 7-13 foglioline strettamente lanceolate, seghettate, verde scuro e lucide sopra, chiare sotto; in autunno si colorano di giallo o rossastro. Fiori unisessuali in brevi pannocchie. Frutto: samara singola, lineare o lanceolata.
Caratteristiche agronomico-ambientali: Tipico delle regioni mediterranee, tollera terreni secchi. Resiste all’inquinamento atmosferico.
Utilizzo: Ottimo per viali alberati in città e per parcheggi. In parchi e giardini come esemplare isolato o a gruppi. Indicata per rimboschimento.
